Great Teacher Memorial & Scroll of Honor Rubin Atkin Suigene Au Kim (by Raymond Fong, MD '73) |
While Stuyvesant has always been known for its outstanding students, we all recall those special teachers who made a positive impact on our lives, and now The Campaign for Stuyvesant offers you an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to them through our Great Teacher Memorial Fund and Scroll of Honor.
A great teacher can be a mentor, an inspiration, a co-conspirator, or a port in a storm. They can push us to work harder than we thought possible. They can challenge us to challenge ourselves. The best of them illuminate the subjects they teach, showing us the world in a way we've never seen it before.
Above is a list of the teachers and educators honored by alumni(ae) thus far.
You can contribute to an existing Fund or create a new Fund in their honor.
The goal is to raise $50,000 for each teacher's fund. The names of these educators will appear on a plaque at the school, and the moneys raised can be used to assist the relevant department, to award outstanding students in the appropriate subject, and for other major needs at the school.
Please take this opportunity to make a donation today. Thank you!
A lovely letter from Ken Wolf '72, about our event in Austin on May 6th.

Sterling Jensen (above), was recently honored at our all class reception in Austin, Texas, where Hans Mark, PhD '47 (below) received The Campaign for Stuyvesant's "Lifetime Achievement Award."
Please take a look at our most recent newsletter, which includes details about the event, and a reply form you can print and mail back to us. Please let us know if you’d like to inaugurate or contribute to a Great Teacher fund in honor of your favorite teacher from Stuyvesant. In addition, you can now order your own copy of the video, "A Tribute to Sterling Jensen". It is available for $75, or free with a donation of $250 or more. Just let us know that you'd like the video instead of the Centennial Book.
